How do I enable Push Notification Alerts on my phone?Updated 7 days ago

Push Notifications are a free method for Barn Owl users to effortlessly monitor new captures and other important information such as camera power, location, and status. These alerts are available through the Barn Owl mobile app which can be downloaded by using this guide: Mobile App Installation

These alerts will appear in the Notification Area of your smartphone or desktop. Here is an overview of how to set up these alerts.

Login to your Barn Owl HQ account, click on the three black dots to the right side of your camera name, then click "AI & Alerts".

The  Alerts screen is now available. Let's review the below example. In this case, the customer decided to use AI Detection (included free on Standard and Pro billing plans) and they want to receive an app push notification when an animal or person is detected,

The customer also wants to receive an alert to the app and email on each new capture in addition to camera status alerts. These can help troubleshoot a camera or notify the customer if the device has been moved due to animal or theft activity.

Camera Battery Low: Your device is at or under 20% available power and you should check the batteries and solar panel connections.

Camera Inactive: The device hasn't transmit within three days and it should be checked for technical concerns.

Camera Moved: The camera has moved more then 50 meters since the last measurement.

You may alert your alert options by clicking the toggle so it changes from white to green. Click "Update" in the lower right corner when finished and your push notification alerts are now set!
